FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.      QUESTION:

If I have a question or concern, what should I do?

ANSWER:

If you have any questions or concerns, try to obtain satisfactory resolution at the most immediate level.  Please contact personnel in the following order: (Teacher àBuilding Principal or Supervisor (transportation, buildings & grounds, cafeteria àDirector (business, special programs) àAssistant Superintendent à Superintendent)

If you have followed this procedure and have not obtained satisfactory resolution, you may contact the Board of Education either in writing or by speaking during the “Public Forum” period at a regular Board meeting.

2.       QUESTION:

Why don’t we have two week Easter vacation anymore?

ANSWER:

The Western New York Board of Cooperative Services (BOCES) has developed a regional calendar that does not incorporate the two week break as seen in past years.  The Medina Central School District would incur additional costs in transportation and state aid loss if we continued Easter break as in past years.

3.       QUESTION:

How do I request information from the school?

ANSWER:

Persons desiring to inspect or copy District records or materials should make such a request of the Records Access Officer at the District Office next to the High School during regular office hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Request for records will be responded to promptly.  If, for any reason, more than five (5) business days are required to produce records, a District official will acknowledge receipt of the request and include brief explanation of the reason for delay and when the information will be available.

Copies of any and all documents approved for inspection will be provided at cost established by the Board of Education.  This charge is currently 25 cents per copy.
